What are SIPs panels?

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) offer one of the highest levels of Thermal Performance of any readily available, off-site manufactured building material.

A home built with SIPs can offer energy savings of 40%-60% compared to a timber framed house of equal size and insulation U-value.

They are constructed using Polyurethane (PUR) sandwiched between layers of Oriented Strand Board (OSB) which gives the panels the structural strength and insulation required.

Here at Evolve our standard garden buildings are constructed using 150mm SIPs in the roof and 100mm SIPs in the walls. We can however tailor this to achieve a higher U-value if required

What are ground screws?

The ground screw that replaces concrete foundations. The certified installation teams offer a clean, cost-effective, long lasting alternative to conventional concrete foundations. The ground screws are suitable for a host of applications including timber buildings, extensions, decking, balconies, and much more.

This system offers an environmentally sensitive, clean and cost effective solution. Using Proscrews saves on average 1 tonne of cement from being used, and prevents mess and excavation waste.

When ground screws are used, you avoid having your lawn or paving dug up to cast or put in a concrete foundation. The screws can be bored straight through most surfaces, which naturally saves a great deal of time and money. Unlike concrete foundations, Proscrews can even be installed in winter.

What is EPDM rubber roof?

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) membranes are particularly suitable for the sort of extreme conditions commonly found in flat roof applications, making them the most reliable and durable material solution. With a life expectancy in excess of 50 years, they are highly cost effective and environmentally friendly.

Rubber roofs do not suffer with age from cracking or crazing compared to traditional felt roofs. EPDM repels all moisture and “breathes” allowing vapours to escape, thus preventing blisters. They are also highly resistant to UV (Ultraviolet light) and IR (Infra red light).

EPDM roofing material is a dark grey slate colour, looks natural, and doesn’t easily show dirt. Another advantage is that it does not support the growth of moss unlike traditional felt systems - so they stay clear.

At Evolve we are certified installers of Rubber Roofs so they all come with a 20-year guarantee.
